Hello! I am duel licensed in California and New Mexico as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am also a designated Clinical Supervisor and Licensed CEU Provider. I completed my Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling and am continuing my education in a PhD program studying Counselor Education. As a supervisor, researcher, and future counselor educator, I hope to help shape the counseling field and train future counselors to best meet the needs of individuals who have been underserved or overlooked by traditional support systems. Through a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), I aim to foster educational and counseling training environments that embrace and celebrate the richness of diversity while addressing systemic barriers. This includes providing comprehensive support and resources tailored to the unique challenges faced by marginalized populations, ensuring that counseling services are accessible and culturally competent, and allowing future counselors to bring their own identities and experiences into their training while also remaining focused on empirically based interventions. My commitment extends beyond the classroom, as I actively engage in research and advocacy efforts to inform evidence-based practices that promote social justice and empower individuals within marginalized communities. I have over 6 years experience working with clients of all ages experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and life changes. With a focus in relational attachments, communication, and self awareness, I work to help clients meet their goals and better understand their experiences. I use an Adlerian integrated approach, bringing in other theoretical modalities and interventions to meet each client where they are and to remain open and engaged in allowing clients to guide their therapy. By using cognitive, somatic, and narrative approaches I find that clients are better able to process their emotions and experiences more fully when approached holistically. I see my role in the therapeutic relationship as one who can offer an alternative perspective and provide support so that my clients may live authentically and truthfully.
